Rachae's Stuffed Shells


This is one of our Chef, Rachael’s, most requested recipes! Her kids love it for special occasions like birthdays or holidays. When Rachael wants to show her family some extra love, this is her go-to recipe! We recommend it for a romantic Valentines dinner with a glass of your favorite red wine! It also pairs well with a salad and crusty bread.

Ingredients:

• 1 box jumbo shell pasta
• 1 quart (or more) spaghetti sauce
• 1-2 cups shredded mozzarella for topping

Filling:
• 1 large container ricotta cheese
• 1 egg
• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1/2 cup shredded fresh parmesan cheese
• 1 tsp oregano
• 1 tsp basil
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp onion powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2) Boil pasta in dutch oven filled with salted water until al dente.

3) While pasta is cooking, mix all filling ingredients together in large mixing bowl.

4) Pour half of the spaghetti sauce into a greased 9" x 13" casserole dish.

5) Fill cooked shells with filling mixture and lay into sauce covered dish. Top with remaining sauce.

6) Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.

7) Remove foil and add shredded mozzarella, bake for another 10 minutes, uncovered, until cheese it melted.
